Don't Quit on Education
Being a high school graduate doesn't mean anything. Anyone can get a high school diploma or a GED. But a college degree is something most people don't have. It doesn't matter if you get your degree from a university, community college, online, etc. As long as you have that degree you open up your options. Even just ONE degree can land you many job opportunities. It doesn't matter how old you are, if you want to get a degree in a certain field, go for it. A few years ago my classmate graduated at the age of 80+. A week later he passed away but he was happy he went through with it. So if you want a better life, education is the key.

Taking A Break
Right now I am taking a break from acting classes. Why? Because it costs so much money to take them and I just don't have enough. I have to pay for my summer/fall semester classes and books...which are more important. But once I pay all that I'm diving back in. Also transportation has been an issue. My car has to be in top shape before I can do anything else regarding my acting stuff. Especially if I get a call-back from an agent. I don't want to struggle to get to the agent's office. Just going to give me a headache. I want to start looking for agents once I get my braces off in 2 months. YAY!!! Once their off I need another shoot for my headshots. Even though some people think that my acting classes are a waste of time, it makes me feel happy that I'm taking a step to improving my artistic abilities. My acting is not the best, but I give 100% effort. That has to count for something, right? Not to the agents it doesn't. It's skill that beats effort. The more classes I take the more my skill will improve. But until then, just taking a break for a while enjoying my last month of summer before summer school.

Following a Dream
The road is challenging. Especially when choosing a career. The way I see it, choose a career you will be happy doing, not just for the money. If you go for just the money, in the long run you won't be happy. I chose the path of being an actor. My dream is to become a professional actor in Hollywood. Even though acting has the lowest employment rate, I don't care. This is what I want to do. I want to work in the entertaiment industry. I'm in college right now and my major is theatre. Not sure what my other major is going to be yet but I will find out as soon as I finish with the GE in college which are a pain. Anyway, you don't want to look back and say, "I should have done this". Do whatever is in your heart and not what people tell you what is best for you.
